We are an independent investigative journalism operation. We take privacy seriously because we investigate institutional systems that don't.

WHAT INFORMATION WE COLLECT

We only collect information you voluntarily provide or that is automatically generated when you use our website. Here is what that includes:

1. INFORMATION YOU GIVE US DIRECTLY

• Newsletter Signups / Email Collection: Your email address (when you subscribe to intel dispatches), your name (if provided), and any content preferences you set.

• Purchases (Trading Name: Petrohelios Bazaar): Billing information (name, email, shipping address). Payment information is processed by Stripe/PayPal. We never see or store your full credit card details.

• Contact Forms / Communications: Any information you provide when contacting us directly, including message content and email address.

2. INFORMATION COLLECTED AUTOMATICALLY

• Cookies & Similar Technologies: We use essential cookies (required for the shopping cart and login sessions) and analytics cookies (to help us understand how people use the site). You can disable non-essential cookies through your browser settings.

• Tracking & Analytics: This includes anonymized IP addresses, browser versions, and navigation patterns. We use this data to improve the site and understand our audience. We do not use it to build advertising profiles.

3. THIRD-PARTY PLATFORMS & INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS

• Patreon: When you join The Veilguide Society via Patreon, we receive your email address and membership tier. See Patreon’s Privacy Policy.

• Printful (Print-on-Demand): When you buy merch, your order is fulfilled by Printful. They receive your shipping information, name, and contact info. Note: As Printful operates global fulfillment centers, your data may be transferred to and processed in facilities located outside of your home country (including the US and EU) to ensure your order is delivered. See Printful’s Privacy Policy.

• Social Media: If you interact with us on YouTube, Instagram, or TikTok, those platforms govern that data. We do not control their data practices.

HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

We use the information we collect to:

• Deliver the content you signed up for (intel dispatches).

• Process and ship your merch orders via our fulfillment partners.

• Fix technical issues and analyze site performance.

• Comply with legal and tax obligations.

INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS & GDPR

The Eve Directive is based in Australia, but our operations are global.

• Data Transfers: Because we use international partners like Printful and Modalyst, your information may be processed outside of your home country. By using our site, you acknowledge this global flow of data.

• EU/UK Users (GDPR): If you are in the EU or UK, we process your data based on Consent (you signed up for intel) or Contract (we need your info to ship your merch). You have the right to access, port, or delete your data at any time. Just hit us up at HQ@theevedirective.com.

DATA RETENTION
 

• Newsletter subscribers: Until you unsubscribe.

• Purchase records: 7 years (as required for tax and accounting compliance).

• Analytics data: Aggregated/anonymized data may be kept indefinitely.
